What is the easiest way to learn spanish??

Hola, I have been learning spanish a lot lately, and I love spanish. I am determined to learn spanish fluently, I am kind of obsessed with learning spanish, that's one of my goals. I usually search for interviews in spanish with por ejemplo Cristiano Ronaldo, so I can combine the two things I love. My next step, after learning spanish 100% is to learn portuguese. Y mi pregunta - how do you learn spanish the easiest? I can understand it good, but I need help with things. I got spanish books as well, but the problem is - I do not (!) want to keep bothering my friends and asking them as soon as I do not get one thing. Got any tips? And I feel like if I just read spanish, it won't help because many words are said differently then written. I am sure that there are many more threads about this, but I would like get my own tips.Gracias!!

Practice makes perfect.

  1. Study
  2. Read
  3. Find native speakers to practice with (meetup.com is a great source if you live in the US)
  4. Listen to Spanish radio or music online
  5. Watch Spanish TV with captions on if available in your area.
  6. Relax. Learning a new language requires taking a lot for granted and not questioning everything you see.
  7. Stop comparing Spanish to your native language all the time. If they were the same language, there would not be a need for you to take on Spanish.

If I ever find an easy way, I won't tell you, because I shall market it and, at long last, become rich.

I have not found any easy way to learn Spanish except hard work. But let me tell you something that happened to me last week. I had learnt a new verb. Some days later I had a conversation with a Spanish friend. He used that verb when talking to me. (1) I recognised it. (2) I understood it and was able to reply to him using that same verb. It felt like a "break through" of my learning and comprehension...........I felt FANTASTIC. My brain seems to have finally opened up to Spanish!!! Now I am in Spain for three months and hopefully my progress with the language will be easier.

I think it's great that you are enjoying your Spanish language learning so far! Enjoying something is very motivating, which can only help you! There are lots of things you can do to learn a new language such as taking courses, reading books/magazines, watching films, listening to music, chatting to friends. Are you taking a course already? I've seen Rocket Spanish advertised quite a lot online, and have been considering signing up. PC Magazine gave them a really good review too. Best of luck to you. Keep having fun!!

I agree with Franco.

The only extra I can recommend is to prepare yourself for conversations in Spanish (real or imaginary doesn't matter).

Say the words in your head and listen critically as you say them. Do they sound right? Can you improve what you just said? Are there missing words or concepts? Should you pass on a problem to your friends and helpmates at SpDic?

The last is a good idea as there is a huge, great reservoir of knowledge, experience and talent to call on.

Francobollo hit the nail on the head. My sentiments exactly. "Practice makes perfect". Consider the progression of "2 year old children". They stubble over words, then combine words to form simple sentences. Before long and without much direct teaching form sentences. As more mature individuals, we have advantages: thew were all outlined in the 7 points by my colleague Frencobollo. All we have to do is follow that blueprint and add drive, determination and a stick- to-it attitude. Tell yourself: I am in it until I am reasonably fluent, or should I say, fluent in Spanish.

Hi! We created Lingling - free app for language learning designed for Android phones. With it you can learn about 750 words of foreign language per month! Until now we released several versions: for learning Spanish, English, Thai, Chinese, German and French. You can download it for free by clicking this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Hepilabs&hl=en Our application becomes a hit and now it is being used by over a million people all around the world! We are constantly working on its improvement and that is why I would like to know what you think about LingLing. Is there anything you would like to change in it?

Hi, francobollo is completely right. What I would add here is just one tiny thing - remember about systematic work. Nothing just happens itself, if you do any language work, whether it is listening, grammar or just reading, do it as often as possible, then every method is a way to success. I've been teaching English for ages now and I'm learning Spanish myself, and I know that it works. ¡Buena suerte!

My boyfried and I tried Rosetta Stone, but we agreed the biggest drawback to the program was learning to use the verbs. Nouns are easy, it's easy to match pictures of things, but you can't see a verb like "have" or "want" when it changes in context. As the program gets more difficult, that's where this program fails to help (we also noticed you can cheat on the tests, so that seemed pointless). We even talked to instructors in Mexico who agreed (teaching their students English) that this program only works so well. It's a great starter tool (we used it for it's trial period & sent it back). Try Duolingo.com; it's free & as you're learning, it translates for you (in your native language) so you can see your mistakes, and multiple ways of using the language you're trying to learn. I spent 5 months on Rosetta stone and was still lost compared to 3 weeks using Duolingo.com.
