How successful is this course?
I am beginning the learning program on Spanishdict.com and I was wondering if anyone has had success with it?

I don't think of Spanishdict.com as "a course". Rather, it is a set of tools that can be very useful to help you in your learning process. You get out of it as much as you put in.
OK - everyone is different and have different learning styles, but for me I have had frustration with various learning tools (books, audio & even 1-2-1). I am currently living in Argentina and the price of 1-2-1 training is quite expensive, so I said I would give this a try & I am a little reluctant to such internet training. What a surprise!!! I now understand irregular & regular verbs, I can conjungate verbs and now I am on my way to learn Spanish. So for me this is so far so very good & remember it is FREE!!!
HI, please do a search on this site , there are lots of threads on this topic.

Lovely Love has been on SD for two years , she said today on the skype chat
that SD was the only method she has used to learn Spanish , I tell you mate
she was fluent in Spanish and sounded fantastic , I may take it up myself. ![]()
The Learn Spanish course is a fantastic resource. The lessons follow a logical progression that closely parallels the Spanish course I'm taking at our local community college, which will take 3 years to complete. Each lesson builds on the last, so you would do well to take your time and thoroughly assimilate each one.
But you cannot learn another language by watching a series of 10 minute videos and memorizing sets of 20 words from the flashcards. The videos only provide a learning framework - they serve as a guide. The rest is up to you. You have to take advantage of the many other resources on this and other sites. You have to build your vocabulary up to hundreds of words, from the thousands available. You have to practice conjugations and tenses until they're second nature to you. Language has several components and each is somewhat independent of the other. You have to learn to read, write, listen, and speak. Your success depends on your goals, your initiative, and your efforts. How far do you want to go? There's enough here to keep you busy for a lifetime, if that's what you want.
Paralee's course was exceptionally helpful to me personally, and I have used/tried most every other famous course on the market.
I love it. I haven't found anything better that is free. Someone here once said, it takes much more than an hour a day to become fluent, and I agree, immerse yourself however you can. Find a spanish speaker to practice with, watch spanish language tv if you can, put spanish subtitles on dvds if you watch them, check out spanish books from your library if you can.
I really enjoy the "word of the day" emails and find the word of the day game super useful. I deinitely learn every day here.
I tried learning Spanish several ways before coming to this site.
I'm not sure that everything on SpanishDict is a model of perfection, but on the whole the way it works has kept me motivated. By that, I spend more time studying and practicing, and that surely makes all the difference in the world.
I never spoke Spanish before I started learning on SpanishDict. I don't follow any courses so I'm pretty slow. It takes time and you can, if you really want to, learn it on your own. But not really alone. A lot of people at this forum are very willling to help you out. Greetings and just start, see where it ends. ![]()
I think this course helps if you are using it to supplement something else, but not on it's own.
Yes, of course. It's very useful.
For me, very successful.
I like the way she explains Spanish grammar - nice and easy to understand.
But I don't only use this website. No matter what you are learning, you should be using more then one method at a time. They complement each other and you learn faster.
