I would like this to make a series of threads for those of you who want to practise some writing skills. On this thread you will be allowed to write more than just one sentence.
And remember, this is just for practice, nothing you write needs to be true

For me, New Years Eve is, indeed, a very special moment. Whereas Christmas is nice and tender because of the children -there is nothing like looking at their faces and feeling their expectation for the presents-, New Years Eve is an adult's night, when all the family gets together as well. It's a moment for reflexion, and a moment of celebration and good wishes for the next year.
They say that Winter's Solstice is the longest night in the whole year! Ja! I couldn't disagree more... Without a single doubt, it IS the night of the 31st of December which is the longest one.
After having dinner -this is, 00.30h in the morning- we will meet our friends, and pretty smartly dressed we will make a toast, or two, for the year that has just started, and we will enjoy all night long.
All Spaniards start each year doing the same thing: eating our traditional 12 grapes.Then, radiant as children and full of enthusiasm, most of us go out to celebrate, and... if only for a moment, we forget the economic crisis, and all the bad things in life. And this is, also, something beautiful to see.
En este Día tan especial, voy a poner la mesa para solo dos, con algunas comidas caseras como pizza ,ensalada, , queso y , vino y por supuesto, frutos secos, ... muy deliciosos ...
Vamos a ver la televisión, algunos programas de entretenimiento, sin olvidar os programas de predicción 2012 y por fin mi horóscopo de este año 2012.
Ah ..y por fin ....me olvidé de mencionar que nos han invitado a una bailarina del vientre como una muestra para más diversión. jejejejeje!!!

Feliz Año Nuevo para todos en Spanishdict.
Este año quiero ver la exhibición de fuegos artificiales cerca de nuestra aldea. La noche es normalemente calurosa. Nos llevamos una canasta llena de suntuosas exquisiteces y una botella de champán. Nos sentamos cerca del lago para ver los fuegos artificiales reflejados en el lago.
Donde trabajo, tenemos una eslogan que dice, "we work while others play". ¿Qué voy a hacer? 
Voy a trabajar, jeje, porque siempre hay muchos jugadores de bolos a los que les encanta jugar a los bolos durante la fiesta del año nuevo. No me importa porque recibiré más dinero por trabajar ese día. Usualmente no tengo que trabajar en Navidad o en el día de acción de gracias. Voy a brindar con mis amigos para un año nuevo en esa noche. ¡Saludos!

En la Nochevieja que viene estaré con mi familia en La Isla de Cockatoo, Puerto de Sydney. La Isla de Cockatoo está a un paso de El Puente del Puerto de Sydney. Habrá dos sesiones del fuegos artificiales; una a las nueve de la noche y otra a medianoche. Y después de los fuegos artificales tenemos un sitio para acampar en la isla.
Desgraciadamente el hospital tiene muchos pacientes incluso el año nuevo, por consiguiente voy a trabajar el día de año nuevo. Pero a las doce desearé 'Feliz Nuevo Año' a mis amigos y mis pacientes.
Hoy en día, noche vieja es un tiempo discreto para mí y mi familia. De hecho, como está tan cerca de la navidad, puede parecer una decepción. Como siempre, vamos a cenar con algunos de nuestros amigos y tomar unas bebidas. Lo pasamos bien, es verdad, pero como a menudo salimos a cenar, no es muy especial.
Así que, déjame contarte como solía celebrar la noche vieja hace años antes de casarme. Pues, la tradición era salir en el centro de la ciudad llevando una falda escocesa.
Sin duda, hacía frío pero, pues.......... no nos importaba, a las chicas les encantaban los hombres en falda escocesa
Celebrábamos toda la noche y luego estábamos durmiendo todo el día siguiente jeje. Unos días más tarde todos nos veríamos para hablar de nuestras aventuras
Ahora tengo hijas. ¡Por dios! Se quedan en casa conmigo en noche vieja jeje.

My wishes for this New Year are very simple but not very easy to make true. I wil be satisfied with this crisis ending once and for all. In Spain we are having a lot of problems with this. We have an unemployement over twenty percent and there are too many families with all their members without working and with ridiculous benefits. Time passes and the problem gets bigger and bigger. This situation seems to have no ending. Therefore, the only thing I ask for2012 year is better times.
With the hope of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel..... Happy New Year to everybody!!
Esta Nochevieja celebramos la fiesta en casa. Cada año pasamos el tiempo con la familia. No me gustan los fuegos artificiales cuando son muy ruidosos.
Comemos buñuelos con azúcar y pasas. Es la una cuando me duermo, soy aburrido, ya yo sé, lo siento.

Este año voy a Nuevo York para celebrar el año nuevo. Voy a ver el bola de cristal bajar a medianoche. Entonces voy a besar todas las chicas guapas y bailar con ellas toda la noche. ¿Propósitos del año nuevo? No es lo mío. Para mí es la hora de la fiesta. ¡Me encantan la muchedumbre!
Estoy bromeando. La verdad es que brindaré por el año nuevo y voy a ir a la cama temprano.
Mi propósito para el año nuevo es no depender de otros para mi sentido de bienestar. y de depender de Jesús para Todo, a llenar mi de su espíritu Santo.??
Bueno, este año no estaré con mi novio en España pero la tradición seguirá viva. Me mostró la costumbre de comer 12 uvas, cada una para cada campanada de reloj a las 12 de la noche. Cada uva que comes representa un deseo para el año nuevo.
Voy a quedar con mi amiga en un campo de golf (que raro, lo sé pero tiene sentido para nosotras) y a las doce voy a comer las uvas y llamar a mi novio. El único problema es que él tiene su año nuevo una hora antes.. jeje, así que va a vivir en el futuro por una hora entera....
En el año 1983 tuve la peor nochevieja posible. Al mismo tiempo fue la mejor nochevieja de mi vida. Mi hija nació este día, hace 28 años, y desde entonces celebramos su cumpleaños y la llegada del año nuevo al mismo tiempo.
Fue un día de dolor: por la mañana rompí aguas y fuimos al hospital a toda velocidad .El parto fue rápido pero doloroso porque el bebé pesó unas 9 libras y media . Por la tarde volvimos a casa, con la niña, y celebramos con un poco de champán. Tuve un hambre de lobo.
Hoy en día los hijos son mayores, pero, para mí, todos los años la nochevieja es un día especial
