Poor

The idea is to find an English word or phrase or idiom "related" to the word "poor" – adjective

and

write a simple sentence in English and Spanish for that word.

Example:

She is so poor (that) she sleeps under a bridge. (In English the "that" can be omitted)

(Ella) es tan pobre que duerme debajo de un puente. (The "que"cannot be omitted)

...........

........

Pictures would be good.

Mariana has kindly agreed to be the “official” corrector of the Spanish.

I think I can manage being the “unofficial” corrector for the English, je je

Sometimes unthoughtful people say things in poor taste.

A veces personas desconsideradas dicen cosas de mal gusto.

Recuerdo cuando leí la obra de "Los Miserables" de Victor Hugo. No podía dejar de sentir lástima por la situación de indigencia e injusticia en que vivió Jean Valjean.

There are many ways of being poor in this world. Some people have great material wealth but in spite of this have great spiritual poverty because when troubles come they have no faith in God who can help them survive during these difficult times!

- FELIZ77, Dec 7, 2011
:-) - --Mariana--, Dec 7, 2011
The reason that it's not subjunctive is because it's a regular or habitual thing (problems arise for everyone). If you say, "I'll call you when I arrive" it would be, "Te llamo cuando llegue." - --Mariana--, Dec 8, 2011
Muchas gracias amiga Mariana:) - FELIZ77, Dec 8, 2011

It really doesn't translate because we don't use the verb "pagar" for "paying" attention. But nice try! - --Mariana--, Dec 7, 2011
