te dejóMe dejaste una tarta de queso pero el perro...

-You left me a cheesecake but the dog got there first, or, beat me to it.

How would I say got there first in this situation?

Do I want to use any any of these words? (primero, antes, llegar, sacar)

Ganó de mano=beat me to the punch? Nice. I was hoping there might be something idiomatic I could use. - teasip, Dec 1, 2011
