Travelling recently and came across this quaint restaurant...didn't actually go inside on account of time constraint, but immediately detected "the" mistake...

Anyway, this is intended for our beginners in "el aprendizaje de la lengua española" and by that I mean "los pichones"... wink

All you brainiacs please try to hold off until a few newbies take a stab! Thanks as always.... alt text

Located in Hope, Arkansas, USA... Exit 30 off I-30... Hope, incidentally, is birthplace to a fairly well-known US president, Democrat and gained notoriety for a "lie" he told while in office... care to wager a guess??

That is very unkind , I thought there was only one of them , but seeing that

someone recognises two then - " Hay dos gringos locos."

I know, huh! Who wants "gringos" cooking their Mexican food anyway?? :) - cristalino, Nov 13, 2011
not me! - amykay, Nov 13, 2011
@cristalino and @amkay: The best mexican food around here is actually run by a gringo. (He doesn't even speak Spanish!) Taquería Auténtica Bloomfield NJ Brings me right back to México - elainepnj, Nov 13, 2011
Actually, when I first read it, I thought the loco was a play on "local," so I took the whole thing as a deliberate tongue in cheek. - territurtle, Nov 13, 2011

Another contribution for you, Cristal:

One door sign means "push" and one means "pull." Where's the error? (I see this often in Central America).

Hmmm, instead of "hale" let's go with "jale" from jalar, no? :) - cristalino, Nov 13, 2011
Yes! - --Mariana--, Nov 13, 2011
That word "hale" is actually an interesting one in English... customarily means: healthy & robust, though not used that much in the States... :) - cristalino, Nov 13, 2011

Should loco be plural? I think it should be "Dos Locos Gringos."

me too - Yeser007, Nov 13, 2011
Does the placement of "locos" matter that much, or should it always follow "gringos?" :) - cristalino, Nov 13, 2011
