Can you roll your "R"s to make the single "R" sound'

You could place the very tip of your tongue just behind your front teeth and simultaneously try to blow air between your tongue and the inside of your mouth and try to keep contact with the inside of your mouth. When you achieve the rolling sound, just add the sound of your voice. I hope this doesn't sound all too ludicrous :D but I think that is just the way it is done...

That will be a problem for me. My front teeth have a big gap. It will probably be impossible for me. It's probably why I can't roll the rr.

This is going to be difficult. For me, the sound is made by forcing air out of the RIGHT CENTRE of my mouth just below my tongue which is floating in the middle of my mouth. The tip is then vibrated by the air passing underneath. You will just have to practice. It may be different for different people. For instance, I cannot make the sound using the left centre side of my mouth.

If your reply is to chicabrosa, then yes it may well be. My method is "off centre" and the tongue floats, so the gap may not be a problem.

Yeah. I was reading your earlier comment. It sounds hard. I might have to face the fact that it's physically impossible for me.

Then you might need this piece of advice if you cannot roll the "R".
The word Cargar - Means to load, to carry. If you do not roll the, particularly the middle one it becomes Cagar - which means - To shit. Así, ten cuidado. Best of luck.

haha.. i started by kinda saying brrrrrrrrr, and purring at the say time... lol, does that makes sense'? it is a lot easier to practice rolling your "r"s on words that u already know (like, car, or brr, or furrrrr or curtain, currant) lol, and then once u get the hang of it, or half-way get the hang of it, try it on spanish words.. hope that helped!

(ohh, and u dont put your tongue on the back of ur front teeth... you put your tongue just behind it, like, on the gums on the upper palate, and dont use a lot of pressure, just make an "rrrrrr" sound and push the air under, moe like under and to the sides, of your tongue... lol, it kinda vibrates on its own..... it takes most people a lot of practice, and dont feel stupid trying new ways.)

good luck!!!

I have the same problem but i am practicing and it is getting better. tongue placement is hard for me as i have a very high roof in my mouth. I was speaking to a girl and used the word "perro" which means dog but it came out like "pedo" which when i said i had a dog I actually said i had gas or farted. I practice with the word borracho which means drunk. it seems to be easier when the word starts with a B
