I think it's being used as a slang for something, but I don't know what! I've seen my Colombian and Argentinian friends write "eso!!" on facebook picture comments..and my friend wrote to me "todo el dia? y eso? estas en el msn?" (he was asking me if i would be on msn all day today) But i can't figure out the "y eso" part. is it like "y entonces?" ??

HI welcome, now this is what I call a clear post, well done! We often lack context and eso could have meant anything reallywink

here however, it is very clear:

y eso?

How come? Why?

Ese, esa, eso are demonstrative pronouns representing a thing or things that are near in distance or time or far in distance or time. In English when referring to someone or something near in distance or time, we use this and these. When referring to something or someone far in distance or time, we use that and those.

Note In Spanish, ese, esa and eso used as indicated above are written with an accent when there is more than one way to interpret it. One example is "Ése quiero"

. In addition, these pronouns are used sometimes in a despective way when used to deny knowing someone like in "no conozco al hombre ese.'

Also, ''eso'' is used to indicate something that is did not occur at a precise time, situation such as ¿Ahora me vienes con esas? or ¿Ahora me sales con eso? Another meaning is "'a lo mismo''. Eso se me da que me den ocho reales sencillos que una pieza de a ocho.
