Hiatus - Hiato
SD is indeed severely addictive - and sometimes that can be a bit of a problem.
Much as I enjoy spending time here and stirring things up, I must go cold turkey and stay away for some time. Probably a fairly extended time.
There are certain things that I must focus on at this moment, and I simply cannot afford the 2-3 hours daily that I have been spending on SD. I have tried making it less, but have not been successful. For me, it is an all-or-nothing type of deal, and so, it must be nothing.
I am not closing my account, and I don't expect to be gone forever. Maybe - just maybe- I'll stop by briefly some time, if I am able. But for now, consider me on a sabbatical of sorts - on an extended hibernation.
Meanwhile, please be nice to each other.

Verdaderamente, SD es severamente adictivo - y algunas veces eso puede ser un tanto problemático.
Con todo lo que disfruto de pasar tiempo aquí y alborotar el avispero, debo cortar la adicción de golpe, y mantenerme alejado por un tiempo. Posiblemente un periodo extenso.
Hay ciertas cosas en las que debo enfocarme en este momento, y simplemente no puedo permitirme las 2-3 horas diarias que le he estado dedicando a SD. He tratado de acortar las horas, con poco éxito. Para mí se trata todo o nada, de modo que tendrá que ser "nada".
No estoy cerrando mi cuenta, ni espero irme para siempre. Tal vez - sólo tal vez - pase por aquí brevemente alguna que otra vez, si me es posible. Mas por ahora, hagan como que estoy en una especie de sabático, en una hibernación extendida.
Mientras tanto, sean buenos los unos con los otros.

If I were nice and kind like Sandy, Goyo, Yesero and all the others I'd say well you have been working so very hard here, go and take a much needed rest, look after yourself, we'll miss you but we'll manage .......BUT I'm not! So I'm going to say ......

Cogu couldn't have said it better. You are and always be a dear, dear friend. You opened the door to SD to me. Your encouragement helped me to grow not only in my facility for Spanish, but encouraged me to rejoin the world after my injury.
Whoever and whatever gets your time is privileged, indeed.

but I just want to chime in (late–as usual!) and say:
I hope that all goes well with your endeavors.
You definitely add a lot of...hmm...what's the word...
ah, yes —color— to the forum,
and you will certainly be missed.
Understandably, events come up in life that demand our attention,
and hopefully,
you will think kindly of us as you undertake your mysterious and perilous quest,

I will not pick any of your beautiful posts as "Accepted", because I appreciate them all.
I do want to say: Geckos sort of Hibernate, if necessary. In reptiles it's called "Brumation".
I'm not sure I'll be back monolingual, but I may be somewhat incoherent upon eventual return.
I have one special request for my SD friends:
Please be nice to me mate Ray, because his clever and beautiful posts are one of the most valuable things this Forum has, whether you realize it or not. If it takes him seven decades (and maybe just a little bit of cheating 
) to perfect his Spanish to the point where his English is right now, it will be well worth the wait!
And please pamper my fluffy lil' sister Koalasan, and give her lots of hugs. If I find out that anyone has been mean to her, I shall be very cross indeed!
