How would you say "you are the man!" in the colloquial way meaning "you're the best!" Reading about the Barcelona/Real Madrid rivalry, the phrase "puto amo" came up. I know that's really vulgar; what would be a polite equivalent?

Sí, "puto amo" es muy coloquial y vulgar. Es mejor decir "¡Eres el mejor!" o "¡Eres lo más!"
