Click here to learn about compond nouns

Dakie has kindly agreed to co-moderate this thread with me.

This game is to write an English compound noun.

Then find the Spanish that means the same.

Then write a sentence in both English and Spanish using these words.

Example

Airport – We took off from the airport at 4 o’clock.

Photobucket

Aeropuerto - Despegamos desde el aeropuerto a las 4.

Types of compound nouns.

Noun + Noun - toothpaste

Adjective + Noun - monthly ticket

Verb + Noun - swimming pool

Preposition + Noun - underground

Noun + Verb - haircut

Noun + Preposition - hanger on

Adjective + Verb - dry-cleaning

Preposition + Verb -output

Update note

The example "organ donor" is not a compund noun.

It would be a compund noun if it were written "organdonor" or "organ-donor"

Be careful with these "compounds"´we need compound nouns NOT compound words.

Remember to click on "Newest" to see what the next letter is.

It would be nice if you add a picture.

I will start with

Don't you mean "niñera", or it's a play on words?, however just change the word if it's not what you meant to say, good sentence. :) - Dakie, Apr 11, 2011
