Could anyone please tell me what that means?

I am starting a class tomorrow Spanish Verb Review and haven't a clue what that means.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

It is probably a misuse of the English word "temporal" in an attempt to sound more sophisticated and they actually meant verb tenses and timelines.

The temporal lobe of the brain is where speech is processed. The word pertains to time in this use, too. The brain must be able to sequence the sounds correctly so when someone says dog we don't misinterpret it as god or some other sequence. In the instant it takes to hear that short word, The brain categorizes and analyzes it's sounds and their sequence in time.

Imagine how much work the brain does when someone with a good memory listens to an hour long lecture on a topic he is interested in. Eat your breakfast before you go to school!

Of course this doesn't have much to do with adverbs. smile

adjective

  1. of or pertaining to time.
  2. pertaining to or concerned with the present life or this world; worldly: temporal joys.
  3. enduring for a time only; temporary; transitory ( opposed to eternal).
  4. Grammar

a. of, pertaining to, or expressing time: a temporal adverb. b. of or pertaining to the tenses of a verb.

  1. secular, lay, or civil, as opposed to ecclesiastical.

So, a temporal system could be anything from a clock to a secular government lasting only for the present time.
