Beginner Skype Chat--Feb 12- ¿Puede ayudarme? 6 PM Boston
6 PM East Coast time USA, 5 PM in Mexico. Midnight in Spain
This is the theme of our chat that night:
Let's say we are on our first trip to Mexico. What are the most important things we need to say? We need to know how to ask for directions.
See lesson l.15 Directions in the big city
Don't forget to look at this flashcard set especially created on this topic!!
We will be going over asking for directions. There is some travel vocabulary and some information about travel in Mexico
Many thanks to Ray for this idea.
Our co-host for this chat is Dakie from Mexico and he will be helping us with our Spanish.
Be prepared with some situations that need solutions like:
Mi hijo está enfermo. ¿Dónde está el médico? ¿Dónde está la farmacia?
My son is sick. Where is the doctor? Where is the pharmacy?
Have a look again at the question words.

It will be very
Sandy I will try to be there. My sister birthday is that day and I think my parents are hosting a party for her. Maybe I can convince them to host it elsewhere, like a bar or restaurant, if not I will have to go to a friend house. We will see how it goes and I will keep you up to date. By the way, I really love the topic
Si estaría a mi casa y no en Florida, me gustaría assistir. Gracias por sus oraciónes, mi amiga. Mi papá está enfermo, y pienso que era un buen idea que viajaé aqui.

I'm interested! How do I join?
Well, good luck with the chat
However.. why are all the chats so late for me, a poor student from Europe? I don't mind there are chats I can't attend, no. But I'd like it if there were some available for my time zone... I guess I have to study, study, study and then organize one myself...but that'll take years:D
Funny, I used to complain a lot about the time difference while being abroad on a student exchange and now I'm home and complain all the same
I am going to try to use this map of Manhattan in the lesson. See if you can get it to work. Click on birds eye view and the restaurants. If you are the green star, try to figure out where you are in relation to some of the places here. It also lists theaters, cinemas, pharmacies, hotel, and we can practice our vocabulary questions with this. It took me a long time to find this and I hope it works. Try it out.... link text
I have replied in a comment and have sent my Skype ID to Sandy and Heidit in a pvt msg, but just to be sure, heck yes I want to join the Skype session.
I wish I could join you in Skype but the Time Zone Difference between us is 8 hours (Mexico to Lebanon). It seems impossible. Do you have any suggestion for me??? Thank You.
You can still sign in on this chat, there have been two drop outs why not give it a try
I'll be there if I can get the time in Texas. (central)
Sign me up please!
I almost forgot to sign up! Sorry about that Sandy. It shoud be fun.
I would like to join if it is still possible. I will be sending my Skype handle to the hosts after I post this.
