The word Metiche

I saw my brother-in-law making coffee and took over how much coffee to add. He told my sister I was being metiche. I got the jist of what he meant, but I couldn't find the word on this site. Has anyone here heard of this word before? Am I spelling it right?

The word "metiche" comes from the nahuatl not from the latin or castellano, that is why many dictionaries dont have it. Metiche means to be nosy, to interfere in other's life, to get on other's case.. If you feel that someone is trespassing the boundary of your privacy, by taking over your stuff or judging your personal life, or getting to know about your life, habits, etc without any reason, then, that is being "metiche".
