"vamos a quedarnos" is the nos necessary?

Hi I was reading a text which contained the sentence "Al final vamos a quedarnos aqui hasta el dia 10" and I am just wondering why is it "vamos a quedarnos" and not just "vamos a quedar" "we are going to remain". If anyone could let me know if it is necessary to have the "nos" at the end of "quedar" that would be great. Thanks!

Vamos a quedar = we are going to meet, let's meet
Vamos a quedarnos...we are going to remain
Quedar en un sitio, con alguien...
quedarse = to remain

Yes, you need the "nos" because the verb is "quedarse."
Voy a quedarme
Vas a quedarte
Va a quedarse
Vamos a quedarnos
Van a quedarse
