Is this a word?

I'm doing a poetry analysis paper and the poem uses the word "escuchad". I've already looked in dictionaries for it. Is this just a type-o? Should it be escuchado? Or is there something poetical about Escuchad that I'm not finding anywhere?

Escuchad is the imperative of the 2nd person in plural... of the verb "escuchar"

"Vosotros escuchad" (it's an order... "you 'people' listen")

This form is only used in Spain

Vosotros is not quite as big a hole in my education as vos, but it's something I skim over. I've never used it in real life. I live on the wrong side of the pond. - KevinB, Oct 27, 2010
