El sillón - usage in Mexico
The last time that I was in the Monterrey area of Mexico I asked one of my Mexican co-workers what the proper word would be for a booth in a restaurant. She replied that they normally don´t make a distinction for that. She added that "sillón" might be used, and that sillón is used for a couch in Mexico, not sofá.
So, can any of our frequent travellers or Mexican natives weigh in on these two points? Is there a common word for a booth in a restaurant (as opposed to a table), and is sillón commonly used instead of sofá? Regional differences, perhaps?
Gracias.

Here's a couple that I found:
Una mesa privada, mesa que tiene bancos corridos, reservado, privado, taula cabina (wooden booth).

Estoy de acuerdo con Julian y con la maria.
I agree with Maria-Claire's findings; "Banco" in a restaurant is correct although "Sillón" would be understood .
In Mexico City, the correct word for sofa is "El sofá" although "Sillón" is sometimes used as well.
