Did you sleep well?
How do you ask "Did you sleep well (last night)?" in Spanish. I was asked by a latino friend that question. It sounds something like "almo......". I looked up the Spanish dictionary and found that pillow is "almohada". Could any one help me figure out what is the word(s) that my friend used?

Hi, Brandon. Welcome to the forum.
I think your friend was probably saying "¿Amaneciste bien?" This comes from the verb "amanecer."
You can also say:
"¿Dormiste bien?" (informal)
"¿Dormió bien?" (formal)
Marianne, thanks. I think it is "¿Amaneciste bien?" . Others' answers are useful too. ¡Gracias a todos!
¿cómo amaneciste? -> how did you sleep? (Am)
Found in the dictionary, under amanecer.
Well, I have to admit I am puzzled by how the words you heard sounded like almo since the verb usually used to sleep (well/badly) is dormir
Did you sleep well last night? (familiar form for a friend/family member, child someone you know)
= ¿Dormiste bien, anoche?
= ¿Has dormido bien, anoche?
I wonder if you might also have heard the verb ascostar (instead of almohado) = to go to bed/lie down.
I hope this helps
¿Dormiste bien anoche?
He may, indeed, have used some idiom involving almohada, though, I don't know what it is. Did you try searching the phrasebook with the keyword almohada?
None of these idioms fit your context.
