A different A-Z game: Using small power tools or hand tools

A-Z game rules. Please read all the rules carefully!

• Follow in alphabetical order A-Z.

• Please include the English translation for each Spanish word.

• Don't forget to click on NEWEST to see the last letter.

• It would be nice if you posted a PICTURE.

This game is for small power tools or hand held tools, only. These are the types of tools used in professions such as carpentry or joiners, painting, plumbing, electrician, drywall, plaster, carpet layer, leather making, pottery, cabinet making, furniture making, etc.

Repeating! Please do not use big machines like bulldozers or dump trucks or concrete mixtures. If the tool cannot be carried in a tool box by hand or tool belt around the waist or apron over the neck it probably is too large for this game.

Have fun everybody. Lovely Love has been gracious enough to help me with the fine points of setting-up this game and she has voluteered to monitor. Thank you Lovely Love! -- bandit --

Funny, we call those pinzas, which are really tweezers. Alicates is more standard, I think. - KevinB, Aug 27, 2010

Thanks. I had fun creating the idea; and Lovely has been terrific!! - bandit51jd, Aug 27, 2010
Great game! but wrong name they are , Alligator nosed Pliers.Pincers are two semi circles used for extracting nails etc. Just like a thumb and fore finger trying to pick up a pin. - ray76, Aug 28, 2010
This is what will make this so much fun, there are lots of differnet names for pliers; I was just going for a general overall feel, here! - bandit51jd, Aug 28, 2010
No, no, no, they're needle nosed pliers:), at least here in New England. - Yeser007, Aug 28, 2010
Snipe nosed, or long nosed as well. - fontanero, Aug 29, 2010

Jack is a funny name for a cat. - ray76, Aug 28, 2010
That is funny. My gato sits on top of my car and holds it down on the ground. - Leeh, Aug 29, 2010

I've always wondered why they weren't called a "tornillador". It's like calling it a screw undriver. - KevinB, Aug 27, 2010
actually I don't know it's just a word that I've studied before . - 00b6f46c, Aug 27, 2010
great word Lovely I can't pronouce it but it sure fits this topic!! - bandit51jd, Aug 27, 2010
It literally means "unscrewer". Kind of backwards in my opinion, but it gets the point across. - KevinB, Aug 27, 2010
In Mexico, this is called "desarmador" - 005faa61, Sep 11, 2010

la clavadora pneumatic nail gun

updated Aug 29, 2010
posted by 192flat
Pneumatic nail guns are the most common power nailers and are powered by air pressure from a small compressor. Is this right? - bandit51jd, Aug 28, 2010
That is correct. This one is a brad nailer for small pieces of trim. There are different ones for framing, roofing, siding, flooring, etc. etc. - 192flat, Aug 28, 2010
We have nailguns with gas cartridges, rather than compressors. - fontanero, Aug 29, 2010
I have seen those here, too. - 192flat, Aug 29, 2010

But, Font! Who better? Great answers on all four of your favorite letters ... might have to change from plumber to Tool Man. - LateToDinner, Aug 28, 2010

We didn't have the money to invest in a new car door or even the part that runs the window up and down; so we lightly tapped the door with a rubber mallet. Though, this one has a metal head, right? - bandit51jd, Aug 28, 2010
And yes, the window would go back up; some kind of electrical short, I think. - bandit51jd, Aug 28, 2010

Yes, its for making a surface flat but not smooth. Usually in preparation for a smooth polished finish coat. - Yeser007, Aug 28, 2010
so is the smooth polished coat more plaster or at this step is it ready for paint or varnish or something else? - bandit51jd, Aug 28, 2010
