Does "aca" y "aqui" mean the same?? When I look at the translator it tells me that they do mean the same. Can I use either of them whenever or do I have to use them depending on the situation??

You might find this link helpful: Aqui/aca vs alli/alla

And I found these comments on the Word Reference Forums:

From what I understand, acá and allá are used "in motion". For example, you would use aquí with quedarse, but acá with venir.

Aquí nos quedamos. We're staying (right) here.

¡Vente por acá! Come (over) here!

Aquí : here

Acá : over here

Allí : there

Allá : over there
