ASK A QUESTION Accent mark... hacerlo?
I will be having my final tomorrow and finishing up my homework for the command verbs. There was a command in the tú form "hacerlo" that I answered "házlo in my workbook but the answer in the back of the book said "hazlo" without the accent. I think it is wrong since my regular text shows an accent when attaching the pronoun at the end of the verb. Am I correct?
The full sentence is: Pues, _____________ (hacerlo) ahora.
Gracias!

It is hazlo, without an accent. It has something to do with the amount of syllables it has. The way I remember where to put the accents on commands with a reflexive pronoun or a direct object at the end is to put the accent on the vowel of the third to last syllable. "Hazlo" only has two.
- I checked by using Microsoft word. When I put in "házlo",, it said it was wrong, but when I put in "hazlo", it was alright - MeEncantanCa May 21, 2010 flag
You are correct MeEncantan! I found the lesson below on the net and darme does not have an accent mark.
Position of object pronouns
Object pronouns normally occur immediately before the verb. However, if the verb is an affirmative command, an infinitive, or a gerund (-ndo form), the object pronouns are attached to the end of the verb form. Note that when pronouns are appended to a verb a written accent mark is necessary when the stressed syllable is more than two syllables from the end of the word.
