¡Para la navegante más jóven: Jessica Watson! ¡Enhorabuena!
A 16 year old Australian school girl sailed into Sydney Harbor today Saturday 15th May, after an epic and world breaking circumnavigation of the globe. Jessica Watson, left Sydney on the 17th October 2009, sailing East around South America , Africa , across the Great southern ocean ,and now home again.
Could you imagine what this Teenager has endured, desperate loneliness, mind numbing tiredness, constant motion and maybe sea sickness. This is an unbelievable feat of endurance skill and determination which for a seasoned male sailor would have been incredible , but for a young girl hardly out of child hood it is just remarkable . Jessica Watson started this great challenge as a teenager but has ended it as a Woman of great stature , we salute you young woman and are so proud of you . ![]()

Hi ray, it is true, I read about this, in Spain the situation was critized, as many people thought she was too young and the parents were only after a medal of some sort.
I don¡'t know about this, but I think she certainly deserves a mention.
I changed your title, jeje, very funny mistake, ray, it is sail in English, not sale

Thanks for sharing this amazing story Ray! This sounds like a remarkable young lady. So often you hear of the failings and problems associated with teenagers. It is so great when we hear of inspirational stories like this.
What is even more amazing is that her parents allowed her to make this voyage. My 19 year old daughter is about to embark on a trip half way around the world on Sunday and I am nervous about that. Hearing this story makes me feel better. ![]()
Your take on this is so differerent from the other thread mentioning this girl.I like this better!
