JUNTA. En términos automotrices es: Lámina construida con materiales blandos, semiblandos o plásticos, tales como el cobre, el amianto, el cartón, el corcho, etc., que copia la forma superficial de dos piezas que van unidas entre sí y es insertada entre éstas con el fin de evitar fugas de gases o líquidos. También absorbe las dilataciones de las piezas evitando roturas normalmente en forma de grietas.
