I want to be able to say in Spanish: To leave a message please press the (#) pound key. I don't know how to say the symbol (#) in Spanish. Thank you.

To leave a message please press the (#) pound key.

Para dejar un mensaje, por favor presione la tecla numeral (#) .

Another example:

To access to your IMEI code please dial: * # 0 6 #

Para acceder a su código de IMEI por favor marque: asterisco, numeral, cero, seis, numeral.

I hope it helps, good luck, and Welcome to the forum!!!

It's different depending on the country

  • cuadrillo (Spain?)
  • almohadilla (Spain?)
  • tecla gato (informal, Mexico)
  • tecla número (formal, Mexico)

Sorry but I don't know what is it called in Spanish. Your question did, however, prompt me to remember a story where an unfortunate drug addict, unfortunate because he was taking drugs, telephoned his drug dealer. He received an answer phone message which said,

Sorry I am not here at present but if you require any merchandise, please press the "HASH" key.
