Searching for Carlos F: On Facebook, help required, missing person search posted

Question

Ok, so I registered on freakin facebook, , yes, I know, I said I would never do that.

So, ok, I found him. On Facebook. His page is private though and only by chance did I get to see a list of friends and I sent a message to one of them, may be you know better how to do this, as I am new I have no idea, but I am sure I will get lots of help here.

Let's make a major search, at least we must find out where he is and what happened. May be he just has no possibility to contact anybody, but on Facebook I am sure people will know something.

I tried to find him on Benz's search function for missing people, but he is not registered, I guess that is a good thing.

OK, I have added him as missing person on the search function Benz supplied: We have his name and his picture, this is a good thing.

Please register in Facebook, if you are not registered yet, and send a message. May be to one of his friends. Please help!!

Hi Heidi,

I've been praying for all of our Chilean friends. I'm pretty sure that Carlos and his family are all ok. Rodrigo is from Santiago too, last time we heard from him is Sunday night (time in Chile), and nada after that, I suppose that the power is out and they can't charge they're batteries, plug in their PCs, etc. Don't worry, let's keep on praying for everyone's safety. Our good lord will take care of them. This is one of the nature's things that we can't really do anything about...just pray.. and keep the faith.

In my heart, I feel that Carlos and family are fine -- I pray.

Carlos is a systems/communications engineer and may be completely occupied getting communication systems back in operation (large and small). It may be that he has only had time to communicate with his immediate family. This is what I hope and believe and pray.

I was in the San Francisco area during the 1989 earthquake. Being a structural engineer (that designs buildings for earthquake resistance) I was immediately (within one hour after the earthquake) contacted and provided a driver to assist, inspect and evaluate building/bridge damage. This went on for many long hours for several days.

I hope, believe and pray that Carlos is doing the same thing with communication systems -- and we will hear from him soon.

Update:

We finally know his name. I got his name through facebook and Benz, she is a genuis, got his address and phone...

I have asked zenejero and blackbull to phone him, at least try...let's hope for the best

Hopefully he will come on later, when you've just been hit by an earthquake I'm sure going online is the last thing on your mind.

HI silent hero, not so sure about that. We have news from all our Chilean friends, they came online as soon as they could to tell friends that they were fine.

Benz has found Carlos's company. I have sent a mail to them and I have asked three Chilean friends to call. let's see if we get lucky and get to know something soon.

I have asked zenejero who is being extremely helpful, thanks a lot zene, and blackbull and rodrigo, who I know well too.

I will keep you updated.

Let´s hope that it´s just a matter of bad communications in his area which will effect everything - Skype, Facebook and this site.

I too will post a message on Skype and Facebook - the more hits the more chance he will have of seeing them and know people are thinking of him.

Facebook to me is also a nightmare - but at times like this is can be helpful.

Blackbull , our Chilean friend, has tried to find Carlos in the phone book, but he is not listed. He even tried to find his business partner:

We found his company, but the phone has an answering machine...

I've been sending mails around to people listed as his friends on facebook, writed a notice on the wall also. But so far no news yet.

Hope you guys get more lucky in the search... In the meantime lets all keep the hope and pray that everything is oke.

Carlos' skype name is curqmer. (in case anyone can use that information) On there the only information he has about himself is that he is a male, and that he lives in Santiago, Region Metropolitana, Chile.
