"Camping" and "acampada"

"Camping" and "acampada"

Hi,

I have a question about the usage of "camping" and "acampada"--they can mean (in english) both "camping" and "campsite", right? Does anyone know if there is a more favored one to use? Or are they interchangeable?
And also, which would you use if you wanted to say "A camping trip"?

Thanks,

Wil

Thanks!

What about "campamento"? Does that mean only a military camp?

camping is used here in Mexico, but you can also say "acampar"

vamos a acampar ---| let's go camping

a camping trip ---| un viaje a acampar.
