The dictionary seems to indicate they mean 'sorry'. Is one preferable? Are they used in different contexts? Thanks for clarification.

alt text xxxxman:

"perdón" is a masculine noun. See its definition here ----> Perdón, defined. So, we can say that 'perdón' represents a thing.

"perdone" is the first person singular present subjunctive of the verb perdonar. See how the verb is conjugated here ----> Perdonar Conjugation.. So, we can say that perdone (from perdonar) represents an action.

I hope this is some help.

perdon se utiliza para pedir disculpa de algo que paso en presente y perdone se utiliza para hablar pedir disculpa de un acontecimiento que sucedio en el pasado.

ej: Perdon maria por vender tu casa. Ej:

Se un hombre feliz y perdone a los que te hicieron daño en el pasado.

espero haberte ayudado. I hope help you. merry christmas

"Perdon"=sorry. "Perdone me"= I'm sorry. You must use the article "me" with this word.
