My Spanish class is kind of boring. I mean, we learn from textbooks. I need this class to move to 9th grade. Can someone help me?

Hang out on this site for a while and see if you can learn a way to mix it up outside of textbook learning. If you click the "more" tab you see on the tool bar you will find some links to Spanish language media and such that may be more exciting to you.

I used to think that my Spanish classes were boring when I was in high school, so I would time myself to see how long I could hold my breath in class. It actually made the time go by faster, and by the end of the semester I could hold my breath for a long time. But here I am 15 years later trying to re-learn what I should have learned then, and my lung capacity is terrible, so you might want to try something else if you ever want to speak Spanish.

Exopengwin, I am very sorry that your class is boring. It would be nice to be able to wave a magic wand and change it, right? Well, here are a couple of ideas for you to ponder: First of all, make it a little game with your self to find three interesting things in each class period. (When I say "interesting", I don't mean things like the girl sitting next to you is wearing a neat pair of jeans!) Surely there must be an occasional crumb of interest? Sometimes we just fall into the pattern of thinking that something is boring, and then we create the boredom ourselves, in our own imaginations, without even realizing it.

If, in fact, the class really is boring, well, some things just have to be lived through! If you maintain perspective, you will realize that this is just one class during one school year. Next year will be better, and you will have learned some Spanish this year, boring or not!

i agree completely with jrey0474. I have found that reading the chats are helpful. And entertaining. I think doing the lessons and participating in chats will help you a lot. Good luck.
