Maximum Edits

I have sometimes edited posts a tremendous number of times...but I think I only made a few edits yesterday and NONE today because every time I click "edit" I am informed I have made the maximum edits for today.

Is this normal? Did something change? Is this a result of my new I-can-edit-other-people´s-posts power?

But I can´t edit my own posts. I used to do that quite liberally.

Once you reach 2000 points, you can edit other people's posts. At that point you have a 6 edit daily limit, until you reach 4000. Once you reach 4000, you have unlimited edits.

So use your edits to be helpful, but be sure you save a few to correct your own mistakes. It can be very frustrating when you see a mistake but can't correct it!

I was at 3500 points when both Heidtia and Eddy went on vacation simultaneously. I did my best to help Marianne that week, but it was really a challenge! Marianne should have received a reward for that. smile

In regards to my own posts, I don't like it as I actually had the ability to edit my own posts unlimited times before getting "promoted" to assistant editor. But at least this explains it. - webdunce Nov 5
Six! That is sooo not enough for me...not for my own posts, at least! - webdunce Nov 5

I hardly ever edit so I don't know, but I very rarely get points for voting. Maybe I vote to much.

By the way, I am officially stealing your (allcaps) tag. - webdunce Nov 5

I think there is a "Glitch" gremlin loose in the system today. angry

I hope it's a one day special.
I also had a problem today with editing one two of my own entries, but in several other places it worked O.K.
Ya might as well smile! grin

HI web, well I had no idea, I think this is a silly thing to happen, after all the higher your reputation is the higher the edit function should be.

Greg, thanks for helping out while we were on holiday, and I had no idea that Marianne did it almost all by herself, which shows that both of you are very valuable to this site...smilesmile

I ran into this problem of "maximum edits" a day or so ago. smile Oh well, I will keep editing and voting up others when I can do it.

I see you have over 2000 points, too. See, I never had a limit until I got over 2000 points. - webdunce Nov 5
My point being that I ought at least to be able to edit my own posts in an unlimited (or nearly unlimited) fashion, which I was able to do before I got over 2000 point. - webdunce Nov 5

What you say makes sense Webdunce, regarding unlimited ability to edit your own posts.

Yes, especially since I had that ability (allcaps) prior (/allcaps) to gaining 2000 points. - webdunce Nov 5

Well today I seemed to have no problem editing my own posts...I wonder if you flip a "switch" by reaching the limit by editing other people's posts (which I did not do today)?

El truco es escribirlo correctamente la primera vez. (just to cross threads with the "word of the day").
