"I would have come to your party but I didn't have a car" Could you translate this please (using Haber plus the past participle)? It is an example from Lesson 4.4 which confuses me. Thank you.

Where is your attempt?

Yo habría venido a tu fiesta, pero no teniá un coche (carro).

This lesson is on using the conditional perfect of haber+past participle.

  • un coche bastante grande para llevar cinco personas. ¿Se usa ""un"" aquí? - qfreed Oct 8, 2009 flag
  • My attempt was "Habría venido...etc". In the SPEAK section of lesoon 4.4.(conditional perfect ),the course version is: "Había" (spoken and written example). It didn't make any sense to me.Hence my question. - tionara Oct 8, 2009 flag
