Which is the more usual way of saying the phrase "She is teaching me English" in Español?

Would it be, "Ella me enseña Inglés" or "Ella me está enseñando inglés".

Or are they interchangeable?

I´m thinking either is correct. My posted question got you wondering, hmmm? wink

I think that either would be correct, but you hear "Ella me enseña Inglés" more often.

Could it depend on what you are trying to communicate? "Está enseñándome" is the present progressive, so isn't it a different tense than the simple future tense (me eseña)?

  • VAFD, you're half right. "Me enseña" is the present tense, not the future. ("Ella me enseñará" is the future tense.) - Stobber Oct 4, 2009 flag
