How do I get the most out of this website?

I would do the lessons and the exercises, then work with flashcards and keep active in the answers forums here.

Work your way through the lessons, and come here to ask questions whenever you need help. You might also want to sometimes just browse the questions that have already been asked. Also, sign up for the Word of the Day.
Familiarize yourself with the tools here, dictionary and conjugator for example.
By working through the lessons and participating in the forums, you'll learn more about the site as you go along.

In order to get the most out of this website, I would suggest spending some time here as often as possible. It is difficult to take in everything that all at once. I have been here for awhile and I am still discovering things. I know this will sound ridiculous, but I just realized recently that when you are reading the answers to questions, you can click on "newest" and the most recent answer appears. I had been scrolling...and scrolling....and scrolling!! It was something that was right in front of my face, but until I had spent some time here, I didn't notice it.
Now this is an incidental item. There are some really big and exciting things on this site like a blog, reference articles, conjugation tools, etc. that you will stumble across as you spend time here. Also, I have found that there are people in the forum who are ready to help you at any hour of the day or night.
So the bottom line is, you will get the most out of this site by spending time here and getting to know the other users. Also, sometimes there are questions you just don't feel like asking in front of everybody. When that is the case, I ask people who have been here longer than me, like Greg and Marianne through "personal messages" and they are very helpful. We hope you like it here. The desire to learn a new language can be contagious!!
