intransitive verb phrase
An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).
a. to be used to
¿Quieres que apague la tele? - No. Estoy acostumbrado a dormirme con la tele prendida.Do you want me to turn off the TV? - No. I'm used to falling asleep with the TV on.
b. to be accustomed
Carlos está acostumbrado a un estilo de vida que ya no puede mantener.Carlos is accustomed to a lifestyle that he can no longer afford.
