En 2014, CP contrató al guardaparques, Manuel Cabrera, para cuidar y monitorear los ñandúes del parque.	In 2014, CP hired park warden Manuel Cabrera to guard and monitor the park's rheas.
Luego de unos años, Jorge y Estrella decidieron estudiar y criar otras aves emparentadas con los ñandúes y, a partir de ellas, notar las similitudes y diferencias que existen.	After a few years, Jorge and Estrella have resolved to study and breed other birds related to rheas and, based upon their characteristics, notice the existing similarities and differences.
Además del encanto natural que posee el área, también es posible apreciar la fauna protegida del lugar, tales como los ñandúes, las lechuzas, los pumas, los zorros colorados y diferentes clases de reptiles.	Besides the natural charm of the area, it is also possible to enjoy the protected fauna of the place, such as rheas, owls, pumas, red foxes and different kinds of reptiles.
Los Ñandúes son aves sociables, normalmente viviendo en grupos de cinco a quince miembros.	Rheas are sociable birds, typically living in groups of five to fifteen.

Los Ñandúes son omnívoros y comen de todo, desde hierbas, arbustos, semillas y raíces hasta insectos, saltamontes, y pequeños invertebrados como lagartijas o ranas.	Rheas are omnivorous, eating everything from herbs, shrubs, seeds and roots to insects, grasshoppers, and small vertebrates such as lizards or frogs.
Los ñandúes silvestres normalmente alcanzan la madurez a los tres años, sin embargo, los polluelos del Centro de Crianza alcanzaron la adultez exitosamente a los dos años, muy posiblemente debido a la nutritiva dieta de trébol y alfalfa facilitada por el Centro.	Wild rheas typically reach maturity at three years, however the rhea chicks at the Breeding Center successfully reached maturity at two years, likely do to the nutritious diet of clover and alfalfa supplied by the Center.

Desde los guanacos, tan parecidos a las llamas, hasta los ñandúes petisos, estos grandes pájaros que no vuelan, sus pastizales y bosques abundan en especies endémicas.	From llama-like guanacos to giant flightless lesser rheas, these grasslands and forests abound with endemic species.
Con la ayuda de un equipo de cámaras trampa, Manuel hace patrullajes a pié por el área, documentando los ñandúes que observa e identificando a los depredadores.	With help from a grid of camera traps, Manuel patrols the area on foot, recording rhea sightings and identifying predators.
Además, los niños del colegio local de Cochrane disfrutaron un emocionante paseo en terreno para visitar a los ñandúes, los cuales han sido incorporados al curriculum de ciencias.
