Thank you so much, Sonrisa, for this wonderful post! And everyone for all your congratulatory comments!

I've been made to feel so welcome here. I came here to try to brush up on my Spanish, which had been truly getting rusty. And not that it was that great to begin with, even considering my Cuban background. I've felt so ashamed that I couldn't even carry on more than a basic conversation with my grandparents in Spanish.

After joining this site, a lot of what was stored deep down in my brain has come back to the surface and I've already noticed a significant improvement in the conversations with family!

I've never been trained in more than extremely basic Spanish grammar and I have learned so much on this site, either from the knowledgeable members or from doing my own research to answer a question.

Again, a heartfelt thanks!

Congratulations to one of my heroes.

I always thought that you were a Spanish native speaker , I just looked you up

for the first time and was shocked to see that you were not . That makes the work

that you have been doIng better than I at first thought . Thank you for all the great comments
