Welcome to the SpanishDict forum.
Judging by your assignment, I would guess that you are probably going over the so-called imperfect verb forms. If you are unfamiliar with these forms and when to use them, I might suggest the following reference articles:

Here it is in English. If you are having problems conjugating the Spanish verbs you need to look them up. Most are regular verbs so if you can't handle them you need to practice more.
When I was a girl, my relatives got together (met) on Sundays at my grandmother's house. My grandmother prepared lots of food and my mother and my aunts helped her. I played with my cousins. All of us got along well together and enjoyed ouselves a lot. We ate together, told jokes, y laughed so much. My cousin Raúl always played the guitar. He played (or plays) very well and we liked listening to him. We sang our favorite songs. Everyone in the family stayed at Grandmother's house until 9:00 p.m. and afterwards we returned home, tired, but very content (happy). I still think a lot about those marvellous family reunions.
