Gracias "otravez".

- Otravez

Gracias, de todos modos. Quizas tenemos que preguntar a alquien que sea hispanohablante. smile - Baglady

Antes que nada, bienvenida(o) al Foro, Baglady, welcome to the Forum. First of all, allow me to say that I am pleased with the way you have posted your questions, I believe that you may like it here, and could be a valuable long-term member. I sure hope so.

I'd like to ask you to please fill up the information in your user profile, so we can know a bit more about you, and understand what your needs are. Your profile currently says that you are male, but your user name and comments indicate that you are female. I don't particularly care one way or the other, but it would be nice to know which gender to use with you in Spanish! grin

Now, to your question and comments as quoted above; Either "se murió" or simply "murió" is correct. Which one is best to use varies somewhat with context.

In this particular case, you might say:

"Una mujer murió de una descarga eléctica (or murió electrocutada) en Nueva York al tocar accidentalmente un cable de alta tensión".

Alternatively:

"Mi vecina se estaba bañando cuando se le cayó el secador en la bañera, y se murió del corrientazo."

Which leads me to other options for electrical shock:

Corrientazo

Choque eléctrico

Cantazo (I have only heard this in Puerto Rico).

I hope you find this helpful.

Hello baglady and Welcome to the SpanishDict forum grin

We do not provide a free professional translation service here. (or do people's homework for them) but instead we ask and encourage people to make an initial attempt to work-out their own translation/s and then, re-submit their efforts here here and people will be pleased to offer corrections, guidance and advice. wink smile-)

You can make an effort to translate your sentence using either your own knowledge understanding of Spanish or the translation machine. Here is a direct link to the machine. link text

You can also use our excellent dictionary here link text

I hope this helps grin
