About "entiende"
I know this is used in terms of understanding language. Could you use it in the context of a discussion about beliefs, ideas or feelings? For example, if I said how a particular poem moved me and the other person said something that made me know she understood how I felt, could I say "Ah, entiende."
Is there a better word to express that?

"Entender" es un verbo muy versátil. Se puede usar en esta manera o también se puede decir "te siento". Pero si eres un principiante entonces está mejor usar "entiendo" con sencillez. : )
"Entender" is a very flexible verb. It can be used in this manner or you can also say "te siento". But if you are a beginner then it is better to simply use "entiendo". : )
This is a great question which I'd love to have a definitive answer to as well, but for now I found another post: dont-understand-the-difference-between-comprender-and-entender
...and probably a more complete answer:what-is-the-difference-between-entender-and-comprender
Hope this is of some help.
Don't know if anyone agrees but my feeling has always been that "entender" is more general: I understand your meaning or why you feel that way etc. while "comprender" is used rather more to say: I've worked through your logic and I agree with what you say'propose etc.
Maybe this is only fanciful but I worked for years in an environment where these different tinges of meaning were quite clear.
