respirar con dificultad
An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).

d. to have shortness of breath
El niño tiene fiebre, ojos irritados y respira con dificultad.The boy has a fever, itchy eyes, and has shortness of breath.
