1. (unthankful)

2. (not gratifying)
a. thankless
En el entorno hospitalario actual, la enfermería es un trabajo ingrato.In the current hospital environment, nursing is a thankless job.
b. unrewarding
Barrer esta casa es una tarea ingrata porque no parece quedar nunca limpia.Sweeping this house is an unrewarding task because it never looks clean enough.
c. hard
La vida del autónomo a veces puede ser muy ingrata.Freelancers' life can be very hard sometimes.
3. (unlikeable)
a. unpleasant
Esas pastillas te dejan un sabor ingrato en la boca.Those pills leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth.
b. disagreeable
Algunos vinos pueden tener un aroma prometedor, pero sin embargo poseer un sabor ingrato.Some wines can have a promising scent, but they can still possess a disagreeable taste.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
4. (unthankful person)
a. ungrateful person
Mi hermano es un ingrato y olvida todo lo que nuestros padres hicieron por él.My brother is an ungrateful person who he forgets everything our parents did for him.
b. ingrate
Te comportas como un ingrato al no apreciar tus regalos.You are being an ingrate not appreciating your gifts.
