intransitive verb phrase
An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).
a. to make understand
No sé cómo hacerle entender que no debe ingresar en esta habitación.I don't know how to make him understand he's not allowed to come into this room.
b. to get through to
No importa cuántas veces se lo explique, no logro hacerle entender.No matter how many times I explain it, I can't get through to her.
