An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).

2. (at the end of a phrase; often used with "it")
a. estar de más decirlo
They won't let me into the bar without shoes? - Geez, I thought it went without saying.¿No me dejan entrar al bar descalzo? - Caray, pensé que estaba de más decirlo.
b. no hacer falta mencionarlo
When someone invites you to their house, you offer to bring something. That goes without saying.Cuando alguien te invita a su casa, ofreces llevar algo. No hace falta mencionarlo.
