b. refreshment stall
Adela sufrió una intoxicación alimentaria tras comprar comida en una fonda.Adela had food poisoning after buying food from a refreshment stall.

a. boarding house
La fonda ofrece a sus huéspedes desayuno pagando un extra.The boarding house provides guests with breakfast if they pay a supplement.
b. guesthouse
En el viaje nos alojaremos en una fonda para no gastar mucho.We'll stay at a guesthouse during our trip so we don't have to spend too much.
c. inn (history)
Los caballos necesitaban descansar y, por eso, paramos a pasar la noche en una fonda.The horses needed to rest, so we stopped at an inn for the night.
d. tavern (history)
En el pueblo no había hoteles pero sí muchas fondas.There were no hotels in the town, but there were plenty of taverns.
