intransitive verb phrase
An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).
a. to fit
La foto encaja con la descripción del sospechoso proporcionada por la víctima.The picture fits the description of the suspect provided by the victim.
b. to coincide with
Lo que dijo no encaja con la versión que nos dio su esposa.What you said doesn't coincide with the version your wife gave us.
