An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, or other adverbs (e.g. to run quickly, very tired).
1. (without stopping)
a. straight
La policía llevó al ladrón directamente a la comisaría.The police took the thief straight to the station.
b. direct (without a stopover)
Es posible viajar directamente a Perth?Is it possible to travel direct to Perth?
2. (straightforwardly)
a. directly
Prefiero hablar las cosas abierta y directamente.I'd rather discuss things openly and directly.
b. straight
El abogado fue directamente al grano y me explicó la situación.The lawyer went straight to the point and explained the situation to me.
3. (in person)
a. directly
Prefiero negociar directamente con el cliente.I'd prefer to negotiate directly with the client.
b. personally
Entregué el paquete directamente al destinatario.I delivered the package personally to the addressee.
c. direct
Vendemos nuestra fruta directamente al público.We sell our fruit direct to the public.
