An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).
a. to change trains
Cambiamos de tren varias veces, porque no había ninguno directo.We changed trains several times, because there was no direct one.
b. to change train
Para ir a Tarragona, tendréis que cambiar de tren en Zaragoza.To go to Tarragona, you'll have to change train at Zaragoza.
