c. quiet (voice)
"Lo siento", dijo con voz débil y apagada."I'm sorry," he said in a faint and quiet voice.
d. subdued (voice)
Tenía una voz apagada, triste casi.His voice was subdued, almost sad.
3. (not bright)
a. muted
Los colores apagados transmiten tranquilidad.Muted colors are restful.
b. subdued
En sus acuarelas abundan los tonos tenues y apagados.Pale and subdued tones abound in his watercolors.
c. dull
Yo preferiría colores más vivos. Estos me resultan apagados.I'd prefer brighter colors. I find these dull.
4. (depressive)
a. spiritless
Siempre fue una persona apagada, de poca iniciativa.He was always a spiritless person, without much initiative.
b. dull
Me parece atractivo, pero tiene un carácter muy apagado.I think he is attractive, but he has a very dull personality.
c. lifeless
Siendo tan apagado como es, sorprende lo lejos que ha llegado en la vida.Being the lifeless person he is, it's surprising how far he's gone in life.
5. (depressed)
a. listless
Encuentro a mi madre muy apagada desde la muerte de mi padre.I find my mother very listless since my father's death.
b. subdued
Me siento apagado, cuando hace tan solo un año me quería comer el mundo.I feel subdued, when just one year ago I wanted to take on the world.
c. lifeless
Su mirada era apagada pero lúcida.The look in his eyes was lifeless but lucid.
6. (inactive)
a. dormant (volcano)
En Lanzarote subimos a un volcán apagado.In Lanzarote we climbed a dormant volcano.
