An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, or other adverbs (e.g. to run quickly, very tired).

a. for his part (singular)
Mozart sitúa sus óperas en ambientes contemporáneos. Wagner, a su vez, prefiere el mundo atemporal del mito.Mozart sets his operas in contemporary settings. Wagner, for his part, prefers the timeless world of myth.
b. for her part (singular)
Todos estábamos preocupadísimos, pero la médica, a su vez, parecía tranquila.We were all seriously worried, but the doctor, for her part, seemed calm.
c. for their part (plural)
A su vez, mis padres quieren que yo estudie en la universidad.For their part, my parents want me to go to university to study.
