As many people got problems with logging in with firefox, or get error messages, please read this post.

Our second software guy Heitor, together with software guy number one, Quentin, LOL , seem to have solved the problem grin

Hi everybody, just logged in, and thanks, Roberto, got the message.

I have just sent a mail to Christopher, let's see, this is some kind of glitch, it worked this morning.

We will have to wait for a while, sorry.

Whoa... Did you know that we have no access to the grammar reference either??

I can access the grammar reference...as long as I'm logged out. Get a blank page if I'm logged in.

This appears to be all about one's logged-in status.

I know that this thread is about problems with logging, but since I can't see any of the new threads (including the one I've just written about this problem) I'll describe it here: each time I try to open a new thread, I can only see a blank page. Are you experiencing the same problems?

Issabela - what are we going to do? I keep seeing new threads and I just have to know what is in them!!!!!! - 00f2b5a1, NOV 28, 2009
I'm getting the same thing as everybody else it seems. - Izanoni1, NOV 28, 2009
No idea... I mean if it's not some kind of technical problem, than what? - Issabela, NOV 28, 2009

I've tried both IE and Foxfire. When trying to open new threads that haven't been replied to yet on Foxfire, I just get a blank page. When using IE, I get the following message:

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500
Most likely causes:

•The website is under maintenance.

•The website has a programming error.

I can open new threads if someone else has already posted a response.

But a NEW thread is one that hasn't been answered yet, e.g. http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/116219/all-time-user-records - Issabela, NOV 28, 2009
I hope it's not any outside-hacker job :( - Issabela, NOV 28, 2009

Same here. I can only open raggedy, old, worn-out threads (those with responses). The shiny, new ones give me a blank page, too.

(added later) But if I log out, I can view new threads. If I log back in, I can't. IE and Firefox and Safari, all the same result. Firefox and Safari give blank pages. IE gives HTTP error 500.

Clearing cookies and cache doesn't help.

Not on everything but one somethings, I click and It will come up saying there is a database error? I don't know what it is at first i thought it was my computer but this is the second computer this has happend to me on. Can you fix it admins?

This is a known site error. There's nothing wrong with your computer. There may be some workarounds, but it depends on which browser that you are using.

I use a Windows Vista, and AT&T High Speed Internet

That tells me your OS and IP, but not your browser. I am assuming that you use Windows Internet Explorer (usually called IE or just Explorer). When I come to this site and start getting those database error messages (using IE) I have to log off and back on everytime I go from one discussion to another. You might try switching to another browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as that sometimes gets around the problem. Just leave IE as your default browser (all browsers nag you about making their browser your default browser). That way when you leave this site you can switch back to the browser that you use most often.
Another comment: you might also want to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox because if you have to keep logging back on and off they allow automatic logon's which I don't think that the later versions of IE support anymore.
