I started SpanishDict's lessons a few months ago and have already learned more than I did in my year long high school spanish class. I was able to use what I have learned today when I had a spanish speaking patient. The clinic doesn't have a translator so I had to rely on my very limited spanish and the patient's limited english. Unfortunately when I said "Estoy estudiando espanol pero mi espanol es muy malo" she assumed I could understand anything she said in her very rapid spanish. But I was able to communicate her insulin dosages in spanish, determine she needed "tres meses" in refills, and that she was "preocupdada" about her "ojos". So thank you.

My name is Todd Smith, I am trying to learn spanish(surprise)and have been buying software and trying websites, but this is by far what I have been looking for. It has all the features that I like about the other (expensive) software, and none of the fluff. The Podcasts are awesome. I have been trying to learn Spanish for 3 years. I am a part-time missionary to Quito, Ecuador. We take teenagers and do drama, and share our faith with others. I can get by, but this web site plus podcast will be the thing that gets me to the next level.

After 2 years of high school Spanish, and one year in college, both a billion years ago, I've decided to start learning Spanish again.

My daily habit during my commute to work is now AM radio - I search the Spanish language radio stations for anyone speaking slowly enough and I try to figure out (with my small vocabulary) what they're talking about. When I get out of the car, I head for a dictionary, which is how I found this site online.

What a place I've found here! It meets EVERY learning style. Thanks so much. A year from now, I'll be able to say all of that in Spanish!

Thank you qfreed. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the series for I have been into the series for four or five times before it was updated. I do recall it was one of the Coffee Break Spanish because I tried a few of them before I came across Ben and Marina and stayed on. It is not at all connected with SpanishDict. In fact, this was before I joined in the lessons of Paralee.

I appreciate your reply. Once more, muchas gracias and adios.

Be sure to check the Audio Lessons again in a few days. The staff was notified about the problem. It is not that the audio lessons have been deleted; the link to them is just broken.

A proposito, before SpanishDict went on Maintenance I used to listen to One of the spanish audio lessons by Ben Curtis and Marina Diaz but now I can find the program. It is off line now with your new program? A decir verdad, I just loved hearing them talk.

Do you know the name of the series? I know that one is not Coffee Break Spanish. Is that the one where the male host referred to himself as Johny Spanish?
Those series did not originate here like Paralee's lessons have. They were uploaded by someone for everyone to share. Therefore, they are available on other sites. We're not supposed to advertise other sites, but if you recall the name of the series an can PM it to me I can tell you a site that I know has the Coffee Break Spanish and Johnny Spanish series on it. I don't know if they have lost those pages here or not. I haven't visited the media section in a while.
